Financial Processes & Service Design

The course projects encompass an introductory assignment on improving data quality in financial processes, two projects focused on using SAP for managing financial transactions and supply chain processes, and a project on service design for a fitness company. The introductory assignment emphasizes the importance of data accuracy. The SAP-related projects involve creating and tracking financial documents. The service design project develops a customer persona and journey for a fitness service, enhancing user experience.

Advanced Use of Excel

In the course, the assignments covered various Excel features and functions to improve data analysis and visualization skills.

Data analysis tasks involved working with large data sets, using pivot tables, filtering, and calculating key metrics such as total consumption over specific periods. We also applied formulas to compute sums, averages, and other insights based on different parameters. The dashboard creation assignment required students to design business dashboards using dynamic charts, data slicers, and other tools to visually analyze key business metrics. Pivot table practice centered around organizing and summarizing data, categorizing sales, and identifying trends. The course also explored advanced Excel functions like data validation, VLOOKUP, and automating processes, applied to practical tasks like business invoicing. Additionally, students practiced basic formulas, such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, to build and calculate results.

Circular Economy & SCM

The course involved assignments focused on the application of circular economy principles in different industries, exploring sustainability metrics, recycling processes, and environmental impacts. A key theme was analyzing how companies integrate circular strategies such as green manufacturing, product lifecycle extension, and recycling into their operations.

One assignment involved analyzing the pet food industry, focusing on how circular economy principles such as sustainable packaging, waste reduction, and responsible sourcing are applied. Sustainability was evaluated through metrics like carbon footprint tracking and ISO certifications.

Another assignment examined the furniture industry, emphasizing extended producer responsibility (EPR), challenges in recycling mixed materials, and efforts in product lifecycle extension, refurbishing, and material recovery. Additionally, the environmental impacts of the industry, including resource depletion and emissions, were explored along with relevant EU sustainability regulations.

Individually, the course also involved reflecting on global webinars on circular economy policies, which deepened understanding of regulatory frameworks, international cooperation, and the technical and social aspects of circularity. Topics such as e-waste management, supply chain transparency, and sustainable trade practices were discussed during the World Circular Economy Forum 2024.
